Relive the 2016 Conference

More than 700 people representing health, housing, social care, industry and government attended the 2016 International Technology Enabled Care Conference held on the 18th and 19th October at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham City Centre – the largest Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS) event in the UK.

Over the two days, an extensive selection of pioneering projects, successful programmes and lessons learned were presented through a variety of plenary content, panel sessions and workshops with dozens of speakers exploring different topics across the digital health and care spectrum.

Health, housing and care policy was all on the agenda. Innovation was a hot topic as well as new care models, GPs in hospitals, hospitals at home, shared records, health apps, virtual care, digital roadmaps, the prospects of joined-up care and more efficient pooled funds.

We heard personal stories from service users on how technology has changed their lives and enabled them to be more independent and live the lives they want to. We heard from industry representatives on how they are achieving breakthrough conversations with commissioners and providers about care closer to home.

And we heard from innovators about new technology, new sensors and apps that can support people with mental health problems, reduce the possibility of falls, and keep people out of hospitals and care homes.
